Two diversions were very popular. . . CHESS CLUB Under the keen eye of Mr. Hanson, the members of the Shea Chess Club first learned about the board, the chessmen, and how the men move. That accomplished, members learned methods of effective play. Control of the center and king safety are just two of the factors involved in achieving Check and Mate! front: R. Johnston, B. Vaupell CAMERA CLUB The Camera Club learned the basics of taking a picture, developing the film, and making prints. Mr. Farrer was there with them explaining, suggesting, and saving roll after roll of film that might have been lost by eager, yet inexperienced, amateurs. Two experienced members , Paul Curry and Steve Hasal, helped the other members through some confusing moments. Hopefully, some future yearbook staffers will emerge from the Camera Club. E. Shawl, N.
