,V . W CLASS POEM We, the seniors of fifty-eight, are leaving now, and so, We'll voice these few choice memories, then give Our thanks and go. 22? We're grateful for the teachers, We find that, after twelve We're healthy, broke, who have stood by us so victories won have Filled their hearts with cheer. We're grateful for our parents, Near, and hopeful that our we'll miss the things we've grown to love, the kids, The fun, the teachers, The team will miss the fun they've had, Running up and down the bleachers. Now that our labors here are done, we bid you fond farewell, The good we've gained by being here, Only time can tell. We hope that memories of us will bring a thought of joy, For we've collected some ourselves that nothing Can destroy. GUR CREED , We believe that the school of Shawswick is a good place for students. We believe in the kindness and sagacity of the teachers of Shawswick. We believe in ourselves as a class, that in union, we have achieved successes not possible to pupils singly. We believe in ourselves as individualsg that each of us has contributed to the distinction of the classy that we are prepared to go out into life with eyes for its opportunities, with training for its work, with fearlessness for its hard- ships. ' We trust in the goodness of the men and women we are about to take our places among, we believe that they are groping upward, even as we, that we shall stumble and falter at times, even as theyg and we will have charity toward all mankind, even as we would have all mankind deal charitably with us. We trust that the life which is to follow school will be generously worth our while, we believe that life disciplines wrong, in-action, and frivolityg that it rewards pectitude, application, and earnestness. We believe that life is good, life is beautiful, life is purposeful, that the privilege to live is a gift from Godg that we should return thanks by upright and fruitful living. We have faith for the days when our hair shall be white and our steps slow, that they will hold only pure and beauti- ful memories of the past.
