The Shawnee Indians lived in the eastern forests of North America. They built their wig- wam villages along riverbanks in many states, including Virginia. Little is known about their way of life because they split into many wandering groups and lived away from well-traveled routes. Thus, it is only fitting that the 1965 SHAWNEE adopt as its theme the symbol of Alleghany Dis- trict High School itself. For we, the students of ADHS, resemble the Shawnee Indians in that we, too, will split into many groups and go our sepa- rate ways in life. As we graduate from high school, we have the choice of continuing our education or seeking employement. No matter what our choice, no matter whether we travel the little-known paths or the well-traveled routes in life, we shall leave our mark on the civilization of today and that of tomorrow. For this reason, the editor has chosen to call the students of this school gf H ' ' ' ' ,1 F..-' ANOTHER SCHOOL DAY HAS ENDED . . .
