Perhaps the double overtime loss to Bland was the best example of this type of cliff-hanger . This type of game achieved student support and enthusiasm and could be counted on to draw fans. The high point of the season for the team was the 76-67 victory over the Eagles of Rocky Gap. The whole team was really up for the game as it was the last chance for a District S victory and a revenge for the disastrous score in the game at Rocky Gap. The Shawnee zone completely dominated play and provided much satisfaction for the players' desire for avenging their earlier loss. The not quite untarnished 7-10 record of the Shawnees will never be looked back on by the undergraduates as one of the school's most successful seasons, but the team worked hard, and, on occasions, showed touches of excel- lence. Of the team's ten losses, the Shawnees compiled an astounding accumulation of near misses by losingfour games by one point, three others by two points, and one additional game by three points. Perhaps next year's team will obtainalittle of the luck that always seemed to allude this year's squad.
