John Boliver fLewis Wellsb was a wealthy banker on whom Mrs. Clarkston had set her eye for Nadine. Dupont Darby fGregory Trumpj was an aspiring poet, a perfect mate for Peggy, according to Mrs. Clarkston. The plot of the play concerned Peter who planned to replenish his meager funds while Aunt Sarah was abroad by renting the ances- toral mansion to the social-climbing Clarks- tons. The difficulty arose, however, when Aunt Sarah changed her mind and returned. How to get the Clarkstons out of the house before Aunt Sarah returned was a problem Peter and Bill tried to solve by introducing Grandpap Pepperdine's ghost. Po s ing as servants, Peter, Bill, and Muggsy, Peter's Latin tutor, had no end of trouble carrying out their plan. Look oUT, MUGGSY . . . Peggy qB. For Pete's Sake, a three-act comedy, was presented by the Dramatics Club in May, 1964. The cast consisted of twelve students. Peter Pepperdine fLynwood Firebaughj was Miss Sarah P e pp e r din e ' s lazy, scheming nephew whose general aim was to finish Elwood College with the least work possible. Bill Bradshaw CTommy Helmj was Peter's bosom friend who had much the same idea as Peter had. Thorndyke Murgle- thorpe or Muggsy fRonnie Austinj was the intel- lectual type hired to see that Peter learned his Latin well. Mrs. Georgiana Clarkston fJudy Brandaub was the social-climbing matron whose only wish was to marry her daughters off to g e nt le m e n of means. Dean Murglethorpe fMacon Sammonsj was the dean of Elwood College who tried to excuse Peter's poor grades for the sake of Aunt Sarah. Miss Sarah Pepperdine fLinda Smithy was a leader of social excellence in Elwood. Jasmine Jackson Wicki Naffj was' the charcoal cook who firmly believed that Grandpap Pepperdine's ghost roamed about the mansion and spoke to her from his portrait. Nadine Clarkston CBecky Sissonj was the light of Peter's life. Peggy Clarkston fBrenda Welch- ery was BilI's flirtatious sweetheart. AN UNSEEN CULPRIT . . . Peggy QB. Welcherj: Stop tickling my neck. ADHS Students Compete On Klossroom Kwiz my mms TELEVISION PERSONALITDEIS. . .Representingtheir school well during their appearance on Klassroom Kwiz were our panelists, Donnie Richardson, Sally Heslep, and Wayne Clowers. A CHECK FOR THE WINNERS . . . Mrs. Gardner, On May 11, 1964 a team of panelists representing ADHS appeared on Klassroom Kwiz, a television show for high school stu- dents broadcast over WDBJ-TV. Our panelists were Sally Heslep, Wayne Clowers, and Donnie Richardson. Our appearance was sponsored by the Hi-Y. In addition to increasing the Hi-Y treasury by S60 our team brought much recognition to, ADHS. Our appearance on May 11 brought us our first victory over North Cross High School of Roanoke. ADHS scored 140 points to a North Cross score of 70points. Our second appear- ance on May 18 gave us our second victory over Bland High School. ADHS scored 190 points to Bland's 120 points. On May 25, our team was defeated in a very close match with Roanoke Catholic High School. Roanoke Cath- olic scored 130 points and we scored 120 points. t OUR CHEERING SECTION . . .
