Hi-Y Works Toward Another Ace Rating OFFICERS . . . The capable leaders of the Hi-Y are Wayne Clowers, president, Steve Firebaugh, vice- presidentg Jimmy Pearman, secretary, Everett Per- due, treasurerg Jimmy Duncan, reporter5Steve Weav- er, chaplaing Jimmy Mills,historia.ng and Mr. Henson, sponsor. The Hi-Y is ascholastic clubfor boys Whose ideals and purposes are based entirely on Chris- tian beliefs. It is the purpose of the Hi-Y to ex- tend these beliefs throughout the school and to promote fellowship among the members of the student body. Last year the Hi-Y received an ace rating, on a state level, as a Hi-Y club. In May of 1964, the Hi-Y sponsored ateam of panelists on Klass- room Kwiz. Some of the Hi-Y's activities for the past year included attending district conferences and sending delegates to the Model General Assem- bly in Richmond. The club sponsored assem- blies at Thanksgiving and Easter. 38

Elected at the beginning of the year, Carol Williams, president, Trudy Rumburg, vice- presidentg Edna Amos, secretary-treasurer, Linda Brammer, reporter, and Nancy Richardson, chap- lain, led the Tri-Hi-Y through a successful year. The Tri-Hi-Y is a scholastic club for girls whose ideals and purposes are based entirely on Christian beliefs. It is the purpose of the Tri- Hi-Y to create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community, high standards of Christian living. The Tri-Hi-Y sold candy at ball games in order to raise money to send two delegates to the Model General Assembly in Richmond. Oth- er projects of the club included having devotions at PTA, sponsoring the March of Dimes Drive, and conducting religious services at school as- semblies. TRI-HI-Y . . .
