We gathered in the auditorium once every nine weeks to choose the English electives that best suited our own individual needs. We chose from different topics, in- cluding electives in foreign literature, great author appreciation, creative writing, and many, many others. Special skills electives involved courses like Curve Raisers, Developmental Reading, and General English for those of us who wanted a balanced English background. Responsibility rested on us to plan our year wisely and take the easier, along with the more difficult classes. The wide range of topics gave us the opportunity to broaden and develop our interests as we progressed in the class.
