Biology, physics, and chemistry are all traditional classes In which sometimes extremely untradltlonal teaching methods were used. There were also some new alternatives to old classes. The new Student Naturalist course taught by Mr. Wen- dall Mohllng was the latest alter- native for 1974. Jungle foliage flourishes under natural greenhouse llght.

Drivers learn skills Jumped curbs, close calls, and un- excited instructors, all marked one department-Driver Education. Driver Education put an estimated 450 students in the driver's seat. The apparent gas shortage threatened to halt driving in the class in November of '73. However, the school board decided that driving is an important skill in adult life and that priorities L l 2 a Q1 1- E. Zll we V--E-as-3 in-it Excedrln headache 98001. 22 Drlver Education had to be set. The designated new cars drove over 200 miles daily dur- ing the week. But the highlight of the course was the steel nerves of the driving instructors. Placidly sitting on the passenger side, they used their brake liberally at near disasters and calmly said, Turn left at the next ln- tersectionff They have probably seen everything by now!
