ww N OPQLUOI' For days after the vivid details are forgot- ten, the Annual staff has designed the 1942 INDIAN with appropriate reminders of the small details-those chats between classes- watching the football boys run onto the field in their red and black uniforms-the thrill one gets when the band marches down the field- that pleasure of interrupted schedules to at- tend lyceum and assembly programs-the Mission which covers every phase of school life-that cramrning for six weeks' tests-that grade card scare-the frightened look ol up- per classmen on the day individual pictures are taken-cheering at basketball games-the junior and senior plays--riding to school

That's just school life-much the same every year-but each year has its own char- acteristics. In 1942 there was definitely the flavor of patriotism. Not only were the boys thinking of their military service, but the girls were also service-minded. They or- ganized a Iunior Red Cross knitting club to do their share, and every one purchased Defense Stamps. This tinge of patriotism has been carried out here also-to show that Shawnee-Mission can adjust itself. The warriors can do equally Well for their country as well as for Shawnee-Mis- sion.
