The six Heralders this year are Kathy Miller, Carrie Hall, Lisa Mick, Carolyn Whitehead, Debbie Barnes, and Rebecca Walker. The Heralders perform the opening ceremonies at Pep As- semblies and at both boys' and girls' basketball games. The Heralders also take care of the mascot. The mascots are unmasked at the year's last assembly. The Lancer mascots this year were Stephanie Grant, Camella Bailey, Lisa Mick, and Carolyn Whitehead. The mascots gen- erate spirit at football and basketball games. They also per- form the opening ceremonies at the pep assemblies. Heraldersf29

I ,Jvc-..Wn,,V,li ..-me Sophomores Show Spunk The sophomore cheerleaders' responsibilities included at- tending all sophomore sporting events and supporting the var- sity cheerleaders at the varsity football games. During the football season, the sophomore cheerleaders split into two teams so that both the black and the white football teams would have cheerleaders. The 12 girls chosen in September practiced twice a week. Leaders Shout To Raise Spirit We try to get the fans to yell for their team in a constructive manner, commented Bob Houske. Six senior boys were selected last spring to be football yell leaders. It is their job to get the crowd excited and pump up the team's spirit, stated Shawn Hunter. Being a yell leader gives me a chance to get involved at the games even if I don't play. It's fun to be right there on the sidelines,'l said Sean Dugan. I like all of the extra activities in- volved in being a yell leader, added Mark Logsdon.
