The work of the Girls, Pep Exec. is a large factor in the spirit of the school. They paint signs, make team treats , plan pep assemblies, sponsor hall competition, and support all sports and activities. I love being Pep Club treasurer. The people are fun to be with and I like to be rowdy at the games, commented Shantelle Hietbrink. Sheri Spurney, Girls' Pep Club vice-president, was in charge of the homecoming ceremony. It was a lot of work and I complained too much about everything. After it was all over, I was ready to do it again, stated Spurney. We do so much work that no one knows about. Each class representative had to make at least 15 signs to put up in Prairie Village on Lancer Day, Spurney said. The four officers, four senior representatives, and four ju- nior representatives were elected last spring. The four sopho- more representatives were elected this fall. We took the sophomores to Jennie Ferguson's farm. We all had a great time, said Hietbrink. As a group, Pep Exec. goes to one sports event besides football or basketball every week. The teams really appreciate our being at their games or meets. We all try to get together and go to the events when we can get the biggest group, commented Spurney. To be an effective Pep Club officer, you have to care about what people think, get along with people, and really be peppy, said James. Senior Pep Club members get enthusiastic.
