HAUBEFIK SPONSOR: Linda Thomson. EDITOR IN CHIEF: Doris Bywaters. The Way We Were This year's theme for the Hauberk was games , and the idea was to show all the fun and games that go on at Shawnee Mission East. ln putting the Hauberk together, the yearbook staff went through a few games and con- tributed quite a bit of hard work as well. Under the guidance of Mrs. Linda Thomson, our fearless faculty sponsor, and the iron rein of Doris Bywaters, editor, students whipped the book into shape in an unprecedented manner. On all the staffs, students put their individual talents to use to come up with the final product. The wide angle lens view of the photographers, the sports and literary staffs well- turned phrases, the art staff's esthetic appeal, and the organizational know how of the production staff all went into the making of this year's masterpiece. The 1977-78 yearbook staff tried to call it as they saw it-in keeping with the East tradition for fine journalism. AssisTANT Eonon: Sally Burger. ACTIVlTIES!23
