Cooperative Office Education is a program of Vocational Educa- tion developed jointly by the school and busi- ness in which job skills and adjustment are se- cured through an orga- nized program of su- pervised job exper- iences, paid part-time employment and through classroom ex- perience in related in- struction. This program provides students with an opportunity to put knowledge to practical use and gain a valuable business experience prior to entering the job market. It is a major pro- moter of school spirit, providing en- tertainment at football games and pep rallies. It also represents Shaw- nee in Halloween and Memorial Day Parades. In addition, it gives concerts twice during each school year. From its membership are drawn smaller instrumental per- forming groups such as the Jazz En- semble, the Clarinet Ensemble, and the All School Musical Orchestra. Band members must read music and play an instrument to partici- pate.
