For the 11th year, out school days began with the truly unique sounds of Shawnee Digestf' Musical calls to homeroom from Mr. Steinmetz's amazingly versatile record collection sounded like no single Philadelphia radio station - but all of tham at once. Could we forget hour own Shawnee only tunes added to spirit week and special holidays throughout the year? Senior Anthony Gold provided talented sportscasts, junior Karen Rickard gave a fresh, vital, youthful spirit to the news, and Jana Richards and sophomore Bekke Bowman added amusing variety with their weekly stints. Students volunteer their study hall time to give service to the school by delivering and picking up audio visual equipment for the faculty. They also work with copy machines, audio recording, and television programming.

Starting as early as the end of the previous school year, the advisors and new editors plan the layout and con- tent of the yearbook. In September, as the classes, sports, and activities are in full swing, the staff begins to gather the photographs and copy that go into making the yearbook. Each member has a job to do, some very mundane, and some quite challenging. Everyth- ing that is done over the course of the year by each member of the staff helps creat what is a fine example of high school publishing.
