Exchange Students Enrich Shawnee f f,i,g Z w I' ,,,,,,,q intl-,, . 2 Q13 ...uv a-: an E! I am Marianne Kangstrom and I am one of many exchange students from Sweden. I live with Mr. and Mrs. Oruska in Tamarac. They, like all Americans, are very nice to me. It has been a wonderful experience to be able to go to Shawnee. I have learned new things about the USA everyday. Like: Football games, Valentine's Day, and much much more. There are many things that are different from the school I am used to in Sweden. The academic side is not much different, but what I like best about Shawnee, is all the activities after school. I just hope more Americans could take this wonderful chance to be an exchange student. You would love it! I would like to thank everybody for making it a great year. If you would like to write or come and visit me in Sweden, here is my address: Marianne Kangstrom Storbergsvagen 26 14141 Huddinge Sweden Phone: 08-7744197 I hope to see you in Sweden some day! Love, Marianne .:: Sn '10 My name is Jens Dahm, I am seventeen years old and come from Hamburg, West Germany. I am a senior at Shawnee and I think it's great. I have one brother, who is fifteen years old. My father works for a shipping line and mysmother works for a blood transfusion institute.. The family I'm staying with over here is te Dereskewicz family. After three more years of High School in Germany, I want to go to a university. My major will be Journalism. I want to work later on the medias. My hobbies are: swimming, reading, music, photography, and traveling. I'm very interested in current events, a nuclear freeze. The music I'm interested in listening to is New Wave or Mod-Music, which comes from Great Britain. I really like it over here and I'm having a good time. I recognize that American and German way of life aren't that diferent and think if we work together we can do big things. i 01 EE rx Hi! I'm Hans Kittel and I come from Frankfurt, West Germany, a city thatls about half as big as Philadelphia. The general reasons for spending the school year at Shawnee are to make new friends and to improve my skills in speaking English. Shawnee is very similar to the school I go to in Germany, perhaps Shawnee is more strict and easier. My favorite subject is probably History, even though I get the worst grades in it. English is my least favorite. So far I'm enjoying my stay very much and I wish the year would last a little longer. U C an EE 55 -I My name is Karoline Lund and I was one of the Norwegian Exchange students chosen to spend one year at an American High School. So far this year has been very successful and full of new experiences, both good and bad, After being in one of these exchange programs, I think it is one of the best ways to learn about other countries, people and cultures, Anybody who has this chance should take it. I don't think you'll ever regret it. I would like to thank all of you who have helped me making this .year great, including my fantastic host family: Leslie, Linda, and Craig Baechler. I also hope I'll see some of you in Norway soon. I would love to show you a little bit of my country too! Love ya, Karoline P,S. If you ever should be passing through, I can be contacted here: Karoline Lund Bratev. 12 1713 Gralum Norway Phone: 031-40872
