awww? umm HOMECOMING KING AND QUEEN: Leanne Magrann and Mark Scafidi HOMECOMING 1980 The 1980 Homecoming Court was select- ed in a manner different than other years. For the first time in Shawnee history, the male escorts and the Homecoming King were not chosen by the attendants and Queen, but rather were voted on by the stu- dent body. This proved to be a success. For the second year in a row, the Class of 1981 won the float competition with their float The Sky's The Limit. The other floats went nuts in 'tshooting for an SHS Vic- tory. SOPHOMORE ATTENDANTS: Karen Cole and Dan Bailey 210! The Shawnee tradition of Spirit Week continued strong as ever in 1980 The school became a showcase of posters streamers and other spirit decorations Then Wednesday the Spirit Week pep rally set the Renegades up for the annual defeat of Lenape The seniors won the class competition as they decorated the cafeteria with Victory Can t Wait and used Another Classic Comic Caper From the Class ot 81 as the skit. The juniors trans- formed the lower circle into Shawnee s Hall of Fame. The class of 83 did well using Ses- ame Street as a theme. The freshman were impressive showing how Shawnee goes nuts.
