Counselor Aides As guidance counselors moved into their new offices this past year, a new group of student office help was formed, the counselor aides. These helpers are assigned specifically to the three guid- ance counselors. Their jobs as reception- ists include such tasks as answering the phone and setting up appointments for students to see the counselors. TOP PICTURE: Kay Trenner busily converses with Mr. Buck. SOUND OF THE DRUMS EDITORS: TOM GORMAN, PAM ELLINGER GOLD ' N BLACK CO- ADVISOR AND SHAWANO ADVISOR: MRS. JEANNE HILES. SOUND OF THE DRUMS ADVISOR: MISS KATHY SPENCER The Publications Department underwent a major facelifting in 1975-76, as more space and new equipment were provided through Shawnee ' s new building additions. Both the newspaper and yearbook staffs moved into the conference room in the new East Wing, and student photogra- phy was done in the new dark- room just across the hall. The final edition of the newspaper was done, in part, by the Graphic Arts class on the new offset press, and future plans include changing entirely to off- set printing. Indicative of the success of publications this year is the fact that sales zoomed to an all-time high in all three publications - yearbook, news- paper and literarv ma2;a2ine. 171
