Home Economics Club and Secretaries Clubs A major project of the Home Economics Club was the construction and presentation to the school of a Ben- nington 1776 flag, to be flown on the school flagpole during 1976 in honor of the Bicentennial. Other activities of the club included a stationery and note card sale and a ' Pizza Parlor ' at the Pow Wow. The Secretaries Club kept busy throughout the year with such activities as field trips, guest speakers, and making Holiday gifts for the Shawnee faculty. Fellowship Of Christian Athletes And Forensic Club The Fellowship of Christian Athletes once again co-sponsored a successful Rockathon with the Publications Department as a fund-raising project. Money earned was used to send members to summer FCA conferences. The club attended monthly church services, and in the sp ring held father-son activities such as swimming and handball at Urbana College. The Forensic Club, a newly formed organization to promote interscholastic speaking, was immensely suc- cessful in its first year at Shawnee. Under the direction of Mr. Don Kelly, the club panicipated in various area speaking contests where they won many ribbons and trophies and placed second in the Bicentennial Youth Debate held at South. The club also had two members, Jodee Peters and Joe Porfidio, who qualified for state finals held at Cincinnati Princeton.
