Shawnee Suffers Growing Pains 99 The 1974-75 school year may well be remem- bered by SHS students as the year of air hammers, bulldozers, and noise, noise, NOISE! As work progressed on the additions of new library and classroom wing, new gymnasium and music wing, and expanded industrial arts and business depart- ments, mass confusion increased in proponion. Who can forget when music classes were moved to the stage, art and industrial arts classes were held in the balcony , and getting from the parking lot to the building was like running an obstacle course! Completion of the additions is scheduled for August, 1975, and underclassmen look forward to coming to a new Shawnee next fall. 132 Shawnee Students Attend Joint Vocational School This year 132 Shawnee students elected to attend the Clark County Joint Vocational School , majoring in such areas as Auto Mechanics, Accounting and Computing, Carpentry, Commercial Art, Cosmetology, Distributive Education, Construction Electric- ity, Machine Trades, Masonry, Office Machines, Horticulture, Dental Assistants, Welding, Plumbing, and Communications Elec- tronics. These students have done double duty through their studies at JVS and their extra-curricular accomplishments at both JVS and Shawnee. We share their pride in JVS and its tremendous contribution to Clark County ' s educational facilities.
