When we began work on the SHAWANO last September, we thought only of the fun and the excitement of putting together a book that would , hopefully , become the one lasting memory of the ' 74- ' 75 school year. As the year progressed and the work increased to a fever pitch, we are certain that some of us had moments of wondering Is it really worth it? Staff meetings became a bedlam of questions , answers , pictures lost and then found again , copy prepared - rejected - done over - finally declared ready for shipment. Now, as we prepare for the final deadline , our hope returns to those thoughts of last Sep- tember. We have tried to produce a book that will throughout the years make this school year live again for you . We hope we have succeeded . 169
