::? ?S ' ifiS MiiMK 5 - iB r WmM m 1 %ft k A door lies ahead New and shining Its portals glow with expectancy ; The golden knob begs to be twisted, Open me! Open me! it cries. Hesitantly you turn around Seeing the trodden path and closed doors behind you, Remembering with fondness the laughs and wonderful rewards, But, not forgetting the failures and youthful uncertainties. This is but the first, there are many more doors ahead Leading to a future only the Creator can know Go! Open the door into a new world! And the next one after that. He is go ne from among us but the memories and the promise of the future with which he endowed us will always remain. We, who hold - ' ; these memories and cherish this future, dedicate this yearbook to him . with deep admiration and affection. ] ' , ' a Thomas Michael Cameruci Carl Thomas Taylor In Memory of February 4 1965 Terence Lee Triplett Ronald Dale Speckman 1 m l. F A C u L T Y Mr. Edward Irvine Principal As each year passes, the individual student opens many new doors — the paths stretch ' before him in a varied pattern. In school, as in the larger framework of life, he must make a choice — the eager and the wise choose to throw open the doors to education, to skills, to morality, to compassion; they reach enthusiastically for the knowledge and the strength to face the future with assurance and dignity. It is the privilege, the right and the respon- sibility of each student to grasp firmly the offered doors and to walk proudly through them and on to distinguished citizenship in his community and na- tion. A senior class has graduated and Shawnee has opened yet another door. This class takes with them into the future the joys and menaories of their high school days — memories never to be recaptured. A yearbook can capture only the highlights of these years in its few words and pictures — looking through these pages will reawaken the minds and hearts of those who have gone and those who linger behind to lead the future classes through the many doors of opportunity in our high school.
