This organization, the highest achieve- ment a student can obtain while at Shawnee, initiates its new members during an impressive candlelight ceremony. The service concludes with an oath ad- ministered by the chaplain to the new members, this year twenty juniors, six seniors and an honorary member. uiure Jeacners of Uiinerica F.T.A. members were given a chance to observe teaching methods during American Education Week when they were sent into the various elementary and junior high schools in our district. Monthly meetings of the F.T.A. were highlighted by speakers who informed the club of such topics as special areas of teaching, teaching abroad, and the characteristics administrators look for when they hire new teachers.
