jKrs. J auJine mu In every school there are many people who help and guide the student who has a problem, whether it be large or small. At Shawnee Mrs. Pauline Athy is a person who puts the welfare of the students first. Mrs. Athy is always available with a warm smile and an encouraging word for any student who seeks her help. She has been the school secretary for six years, but typing reports and keeping books do not represent the full extent of her duties. One may find her doing anything from nursing a bloody finger to counting votes. A day ' s work for Mrs. Athy is much too long to be written here; it often includes many hours after the 3:32 bell, time spent at school programs and other activities. We wish, in one way, to thank her for what she has done for all of us. To do this, we dedicate this page as a special recognition to an invaluable friend. 28
