JlLr. Cjowara S7roine It is fitting that this yearbook be dedicated to the heritage of the past and the promise of the future. In this country of many freedoms each student has the opportunity to look back to what he has accompHshed during his high school career and to look forward to what he hopes to achieve in his lifetime. It is his inherent right and responsibility to pledge himself to fulfill the promise of citizenship. This promise of the future was personified by John Fitzgerald Kennedy during his brief span as President. His tragic and untimely death need not change the ideals for which he stood nor change the goals of democracy which he sought. Mr. Kennedy fervently believed in the dignity of man regardless of race, color or creed. He would ask no greater memorial than the dedication of the young people of America to fulfill this dream of equality. E. M. Irvine Principal 15
