WILLIAM LOWREY CUNNINGHAM 1 Tailback Fullbaclt xr A U if e H' T' My , ,Q Coach Paul Lireene's Shawnee Wolves had a better than average season this year. In the final poll of the state's sports-writers, the Wolves were selected 10th in the state. A few breaks could have produced a much better showing than the 5-4-1 record indicated. ln the same number of games this year's team has scored more points than has any other Wolfpack in the past decade. They were one of the three pack teams in the history of the school that scored in every game of the season. Some of the honors the team received were: Coach Greene, Coach of the Weekg Ted Watson, All-State End, and jimmie Lynn, William Lowrey, Ted Watson, and 1. D. The llolves managed a 56 point average per game, but a loose defense kept them from having a record better than lil-ll, The pack finished fifth in the Mid-State Conference after losing two heartbreaking games to Norman, by identical scores 61-58, a close 50-49 loss to Capitol llill, and a 45-43 defeat at the hands of Classen's Comets. The llolves avenged the losses to Norman by soundly dumping the Tigers 65-52 in the finals of the regional tourney.
