0PH0lVIORE CLASS OFFICER president. Seated: Sherry Kay Phillips, treasurerg Loyce Hunter, secretary Deward Jameson, Pauline Ingram, and Charles Martin, class spon- sors. Standing: Jimmy Wheeler, vice-president, William Lowery 0PH0lVl0RE CLASS HISTORY The curtain was drawn, the lights were out, and all was quiet. Suddenly in a bevy of noise and confusion the stage crew burst upon the stage. The props, repre- senting the walls of Shawnee High School, literally shook with the din. After all the noise and confusion had subsided, the dazed members of the cast and their un- derstudies realized that these were the members of the stage crew. They were introduced to William Lowery, class presi- dent, and his assistants: Jimmy Wheeler, vice-president, Loyce Hunter, secretary, and Sherry Kay Phillips, treasurer. The supervisors were Pauline Ingram, Deward Jameson, and Charles Martin. The football players, Donald Higgins, William Lowery, and Bill Thomas, were lugging props around. Giving them her moral support was Katherine Cowen, foot- ball attendant. Darrel Tucker and William Lowery were basketball boys. Their most loyal supporter was Javonna Mooney, basket- ball attendant. The proud members of the stage crew who possessed some talent and were members of the cast of the Student Coun- cil play were Sharon Haddock, Lee Arden Surber, and Bill Oden. Leading cheers through the year were Janice Alexander and Guy McGregor. Sophomore members of the boys' tennis team were Dale Anderson, Charles Low- ery, and Bill Moran. Sophomore drum majorette was Bobbye Van Antwerp. When the curtain was drawn, all agreed that the sophomores had done their part in making the play a success. They cer- tainly had lived up to their motto: F or- ward ever, backward never.
