The stage crew, under the guidance of Mr. Durkin, is invaluable in helping Shaw’s assemblies and stage productions to run smoothly. Most students don’t see the stage crew in action except when someone adjusts a microphone or moves the speaker’s stand a little to the right. This is only a fraction of their job. LE MASQUE Le Masque is a club dedicated to all students who appreciate the arts. Some of this year’s activities included trips made to various theaters to see plays of special interest. The meetings which followed were sparked by lively discussions of these plays. Their other meetings often included skits written and presented by the play production class. At various times they also had guest speakers who lectured on some facet of the arts. Members of Le Masque were responsible for all of the behind-the-scenes work on Shaw’s fall production, Medea, and also the Black and Red Review. 25
