Business Manager Mr. William Councell, Business Manager Mrs. Lois Skinner, Clerk-treasurer Miss Jean MacGregor, Miss Mildred Lenk, Office Workers Tucked away in a corner of the technical building, is located the busi- ness department of the East Cleveland school district, with William Councell at the helm. lt is the function of this department to: supply all textbooks used by students, provide for the salaries of all employees of the Board of Education, heat and light, janitorial service, and maintenance of school property. Mrs. Lois Skinner, Clerk-Treasurer, is in charge of all the finan- cial matters, handled by this department. She also keeps the records of all board meetings. Another of her duties is being responsible for all financial reports. ln this office are kept all records and blueprints of all the buildings owned and operated by the Board. All equipment used by the various shops is bought by the business department. Though this office provides the equipment used by the physical education classes, it is not connected with any of the inter-scholastic athletic organizations. All correspondence and telephone services are handled through this office.

Superintendent TUDENTS of East Cleveland are indeed fortunate in having Dr. O. J. Korb as their superintendent, He has held this position for the past seven years, four of which were critical war years. During these trying times, with financial difficulties added to the other wartime problems, Dr. Korb's administrative abbilities proved highly valuable to this community. Dr, Korb has devoted his life to the field of education and is a trustee of Kent University. l-le has a Master's Degree from Columbia University, a Doctor's Degree from Western Reserve, and was the superintendent of schools in South Euclid before he came to Shaw. Dr. Korb enjoys the many sports activities at Shaw and finds time to attend many of them.

William Councell As Sheldon Shaw comes in the West Tech door, he sees the room in which all the business transactions of Shaw are approved, for it is in this section of rooms that the Board of Education meets. It consists of five members, who in turn hire the clerk- treasurer and business manager. Some of the duties of this board of directors are to have a supervisor and approve ot the teachers whom he in turn hires. They also collect the school taxes and pass all the expenditures.
