In M Z. 0. Gfjinqm Za... We Have Tried to Be Worthy of E. C. 0ffinger's Long Service and Loyalty EDWARD C. OFFINGER was a one-man booster committee for Shaw High athletics. As head of the physical education depart- ment, he had trained thousands of boys. Offy is what these boys called him. Last year's track and tennis teams were un- der his direction. For more than thirty-five years Mr. Offinger, coach and adviser, was the inspira- tion of every athlete in the school. That is because this teacher of physical fitness sym- bolized sincerity and loyalty. Such men are on earth to guide and give courage. Truly wherever Edward C. Offin- ger's spirit now dwells, he has bequeathed a challenge to the school which he loved so faithfully.
