1 W.. Drug' W' fi I X 1' 'W Glorious Fountain! Let my heart be. Fresh, changeful, constant, upward like thee! Student life is the heart of Shaw's activities. Its pulse rate is strong: Homecoming court and dances, the Christ- mas parade, a lonely long dis- tance runner running the miles of blacktop, the wail of a hot sax, the throb of a bass drum heard on a long Sep- tember afternoon in the parking lot, the rat-a-tat-tat of typewriters harmoniously clicking their melody, the red cross blood drive. Proud of our school and ourselves We are superior to all others, and special in ev- ery respect. The students of Shaw High School, a cheerful group, helping one another in every possible way. Partici- pating, friendly, victorious. We are the student life. We are the Raiders. I Shaw S Club Homecoming float. The winning float sponsored by the sen- ior class. A group of friends gather in the library. Kathy Bryant prepares the band for the pregame show. Tracie Stewart smiles for the camera. Susie Vinson and JoAnn Harvey jump for joy in the hall. A football game always brings smiles to Shaw fan's faces. A typical school lunch . . . Chili dogs and FRENCH FRIES! Vince Allen, Mo Duncan, Glenn Hender- son and Sandy Peters gather round to read a magazine. V is 4

Always giv- ing of what little time they have left over to help us. They are ruling, yet witty. They are skillful, yet down to earth. Our Faculty consists of a variety of teachers with varied interests and hobbies, ages and experiences, quali- fications and backgrounds. As we learn from them each day, they are also learning from us. They re- member how it was when they were in high school. The ups and downs that they had, just as the ones we have to- day: first date, first kiss While remembering their early years they enrich ours with their sincerity and wis- dom. Where else can anyone find such authoritative and direct, yet likeable and kind people? No where but here, at our school, Shaw High. 'Q - f' X 4621255572 2 f n g ,. lf- f:,f.,,..
