Kenneth Van Hom Y Shaw High School Star Student chose as his star teacher Mrs. Lillian Wool- dridge, the head of the Math Depart- ment. Mrs. Wooldridge Star Student The term STAR refers to the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition Award sponsored by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. In order to qualify as Star student a person must be in the upper 10'!f scholastically of the Senior Class, in a fully accredited school and make at least 425 on the Verbal portion and 465 on the Math portion of the Scholastic Achievement Test. Once the Stu- dent has received the award hefshe then chooses a teacher that the student feels has most contrib- uted to hisfher academic achievement. This year Shaw High School was fortunate in having a tie for the Star Student Award. Kenneth Van Horn and Laurie Safar both scored a hi h 1280 points . . .
