Marching Band The S.H.S. Marching Band has been in existence for three years, and since then they have been rated superior. In the past two years, the band was under the direction of Ben Hines. This year the band takes a new turn under the direction of Mr. Ioseph Price. The Marching Band consists of 115 mem- bers, and plays at every football game. This year, the band entered into the Christmas parade, But this year was a first for the band, where they traveled to Warner Robins, to play and cheer the Raiders on during the regional play- offs. Mrs. Wooldridge Star Student The term STAR refers to the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition Award sponsored by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. In order to qualify as Star student a person must be in the upper 10'!f scholastically of the Senior Class, in a fully accredited school and make at least 425 on the Verbal portion and 465 on the Math portion of the Scholastic Achievement Test. Once the Stu- dent has received the award hefshe then chooses a teacher that the student feels has most contrib- uted to hisfher academic achievement.
