Faculty-Classes THE Shattuck faculty is not just a group of teachers. First of all the faculty is the real governing body of the school. Under the leadership of the administration and Board of Trustees they make the decisions which run the school. Second, of course, they act as instructors in the academic subjects. Their other capacities cover a wide and varied range. They act as adviser, as tutor, as coach, and as friend. Many of the faculty make their residence in the dorms, and these rooms are popular gathering places in spare moments. This close contact with mature minds is of great value in developing young personalities. Working closely with the faculty is the senior class. In one sense Shattuck differs from many other military schools. At Shattuck the senior class and not the officers or the fourfyear men act as leaders of the rest of the school. Accordingly, with this responsibility go the senior privf ileges which are granted the seniors by the faculty. The close cooperation depends mostly on the common interests inf volved. Cadets and faculty members see the same problem, only from different sides. As long as both the seniors and the faculty can see the problems clearly with the real aim of a better school foremost, Shattuck will continue to en' rich young men's minds in all phases of a well rounded education.
