THE I959 INDIAN The journalism department under the leadership of Mrs. Gelene Butterbaugh has published our school paper, THE WAR WHOOP, monthly during the 1958-1959 school year. The annual staff members worked diligently in preparing the copy for the 1959 INDIAN. The highlight of the year for THE WAR WHOOP staff was attending the OIPA Conference at the University of Oklahoma, Norman. Linda Gordon, a junior was the editor of the paper. Our photographer, Edward Starbuck has been a common sight around our school throughout the year. Taking pictures for the annual is a big job. To raise money for THE INDIAN, the jour- nalism department sponsored a pie auction on April 28. They also sold chances on a movie camera and projector which was given away at the pie auction. About 35115 was raised toward the annual fund. In our regular sales campaign Judy Riffel, our editor, said more than two hundred annuals were bought, thus assuring the students of an INDIAN next year.
