I have enjoyed working with you, and as you c lose the period in your lives during which you have been under constant supervision, and enter a period where you are on your own, I should like to stress the importance of adopting high principles as your guiding philosophy. And if the train were speeding toward a gang of outlaws, it would be comparable to the war situation ahead of us in Asia. It would be foolish for the older generation who were un- able to prevent this mess to offer any sound advice other than, Do the best to prepare yourselves for whatever you think may lie ahead.' '
