Five men, each elecTed Tor Three-year Terms by The voTers of The school disTricT, make up The board of TrusTees. They organize each year on July I, and choose a chairman and a clerlc To serve Tor one Term. lvlaTT J. RumbolTz is now The chairman, and Mr. Dudley V. SaelTzer serves as The clerlc. Mr. David R. The sfu- denfs have been separafed alphabefically and divided among six counselors. Each coun- selor will guide a few sfudenfs in each of fhe four classes, fhus enabling a sfudenf fo have fhe same counselor fhroughouf his high school years. ln fhis way fhere is opporfunify for more individualized counseling, and a greafer undersfanding befween counselor and sfudenf. The sfudenfs may now know fheir counselor beffer, and have fhe help of a real friend and assisfanf. This sysfem nof only is more beneficial fo fhe sfudenfs, buf also fo each counselor. The scholasfic requiremenfs are now fhe respcnsibilify of all fhe counselors, nof iusf fhaf of fhe senior advisor. All counselors have access fo fhe same fools for uniform counseling, such as quesfionnaires and fhe various office facilifies. Alfhough The infroducfion of fhis sysfem caused more work for 'rhe counselors a+ firsf, if has now equalized fhe load a greaf deal. The supervision of affendance has been shiffed enfirely fo fhe affendance office, fhus relieving counselors of fhis fime-consuming dufy, and giving fhem more oppor- funify for sfudenf counseling. In former years, fhe counselors also acfed as fhe sponsor for fhe class whose members fhey advised. Now. each class has a sponsor who is nof con- necfed in any ofher way wifh fhe counseling program. ln fhe same manner as fhe counsel- ing sysfem. fhe sponsors advise a class for ifs enfire high school life. The adminisfrafion and fhe faculfy feel fhaf by infroducing fhis new way of helping fhe sfudenf body members wifh 'rheir school problems, nof only will a beffer relafionship befween fhe counselors and fhe sfudenfs be esfablished, buf fhaf also a new feeling of school spirif will be developed.
