ASSCCIATED STUDENTS CF Sl-IASTA UNICN I-HGH SCHCCL The Shasta Hrgh School student body of the N348 49 school term can look back on a very acttve year The l2OU students under the able dtrectton of Frank Mc Enaney and Terry Mclimney as fall and sprmg student body prestdents respec trvely earned a good name for themselves tn Reddtng and throughout Northern Caltforma We were outstandmg rn everythmg we attempted ln the fteld of sports we took the Btg Srx League Champtonshrps 1n both football and basketball The Wolves completely domtnated the Acker Round Robtn Tournament and won wtth 64 more potnts than tts nearest competttor Orovtlle We were also well represented rn the Tournament of Champrons at the Untverstty of Caltfornta The teams were well supported th1s year by the students The Pep Soctety for the frrst tlme rn the htstory of our school had an organtzed cheermg sectron All the members were dressed tn whrte and formed a soltd mass rrght tn the mrddle of the student sectton The Shasta Htgh band also took a great part rn support mg our teams They were outstandmg at the Chrco basketball game when they executed flashy drrlls durtng halfttme Shasta was outstandmg rn c1v1c affalrs The students made a marvelous show 1ng rn puttlng over the school bond rssue It has patd off well too The underclass men w1ll be usmg addtttonal school fac1l1t1es even as soon as next year The sophomores and freshmen wtll be able to take conttnuous school work rn the luntor College that wrll open m two years Shasta had outstandmg assemblres Competttron was held between the four classes rn putttng on entertarntng programs The senrors won About the most outstandmg program of the year was the faculty assembly Thts program was put on enttrely by teachers for the students As far as we know rt 1S the only program of tts krnd tn Caltfornra The annual exchange assembly wtth Red Bluft was held agatn thts year Our student body was led by an efftclent Student Councrl lt operated on a well prepared budget Thts IS somethmg that most schools have not even thought about When 20 students attended the Student Leaders Conference rn Chtco every one of them came back wtth the realtzatton that our school ts outstandmg Members of the student body put on the annual school play entrtled Sat ed By the Belle lt was a great success Two clubs were reorgantzed thts year They are tl Aeronauttcs Club ana the luntor Statesmen Thrs year our student body newspaper becarne a w ekly for the frrst rme rn the htstory of th Volcano lt was recessary o rnatce t a srna ler srze IZ caus of th1s but rt was worth rt To sum rt all up rn srx words ou student bcay can be beat' . , T , , , . , . t . , ' . . , .
