Litfle did we realize ThaT SepTember, l94l, would pass so quickly inTo June, l945. During The firsT few weeks we were indeed green freshmen, buT as we began Taking parT in school acTiviTies we losl' some of our perplexify. Our freshman class was led by Mariorie Dooley in The fall. Help- ing her over The many obsTacles confronfing any new sTu- denT were Herb JergenTz as vice-presidenT, Mildred SmiTh as secreTary, Harold JergenTz as Treasurer, and Ginger Cirac and Bill Goodrich as yell leaders. During The Spring semesfer our officers were Jim HolT, president Ted Garland, vice-presidenT: June BeaTTy, secre- Tary: Bill Goodrich, Treasurer: and Millie SmiTh and Hugh ShuffleTon, yell leaders. Our main acTiviTies were The spon- soring of The Freshman ReTurn and The Buying of a War Bond. Many of our boys were members of The championship D baskeTball Team, and The freshman princesses aT The annual WinTer Carnival were Barbara Haskell and Millie SmiTh. During The second semesTer of our freshman year we became acTive in all school acTiviTies and looked forward eagerly To reTurning in The Tall. EnTering in SepTember, l942, as sophomores, we began To parTicipaTe wholehearTedly in all school affairs. Our class was represenTed on The varsiTy championship baskeTball and fooTball Teams and we acquired a high scholasTic sTandinq wifh many being members of The CSF. Headed by Al Grigarick and Bob Bush, we sponsored The annual Sopho- more Hop, and we Took a leading parT in all The various war acTiviTies inTroduced aT The school. Al and Bob were assisTed by Barbara Haskell and Harold JergenTz as vice-presidenTs: PaT Baker and BeTTy Jo Brown as secreTaries: BeTTy Jo Brown and PaT Baker as Treasurers: and holding The offices of yell leaders were Bill Goodrich, KaTherine NorTon, Al Grigarick, and Jackie McGee. Sopho- more princesses for The Winfer Carnival were Mildred SmiTh and Roma PorTer. The Junior year was indeed a big year for us, for our own graduaTion was noT Too far disTanT. We puT in a full year wiTh members of our class parTicipaTing in foofball and baskeTball, and in sTudenT acTiviTies of all kinds. We even had a few Thespians in our midsT. We were led by prexys Jim l-loIT and Dan Cherry: spare Tires Herb JergenTz and Bill Goodrich: noTe keepers Karen Mclnnis and Roma PorTer: money managers Jeanie Taylor and PaT Baker: yell leaders Bill Goodrich, Jackie McGee. Millie SmiTh, and Harold JergenTz, and wiTh Barbara Haskell and Don Ham- mon keeping order. We were well represenTed in sTudenT governmenT wiTh Al Grigarick as Treasurer and Millie SmiTh and Bill Goodrich as yell leaders of The sTudenT body. JOHN KOBE I HighlighT of The year was The'Junior Prom, aT which affair Roma PorTer and Herb JergenTz were King and Queen. Princesses aT The WinTer Carnival were Carolyn Webb and Millie SmiTh, and our represenTaTives To Boys' STaTe were Dan Cherry, Jim Holt, Al Grigarick, Ted Dooley. Members of our class who Took parT in dramaTic producfions were Roma PorTer, Dan Cherry, Mary Ashfield, Frank Baker, and PaT Aldridge. GraduaTion nighf members of our class parTicipaTed in an Honor Guard, and decoraTed for The Senior Ball. Wanda Orr received The Eafon ChemisTry Award: Mary Ashfield won second prize in The American Legion Essay ConTesT and PaT Baker won The American HisTory Award. SepTember l8, I9-15, saw The dawn of our senior year. AT lasT we were The supreme leaders of The school. Quife liTer- ally This was True, as 'live of The six sTudenT body offices were filled in The fall by seniors. Jim HolT was The sTudenT body presidenT, Herb JergenTz, The vice-presidenT, June Huf- faker, The secreTary, Ted Dooley, The Treasurer, and Virginia Anne Marr and John Laco, Tax collecTors for The whole year. During The spring semesTer, The school was led by Ted Dooley as prexy, Al Grigarick as spare Tire, and Bill Good- rich as Treasurer. Our own class officers were HerberT Jer- genTz and John Kobe, as presidenTs: BurTon McMillan and Jack Kinsley, vice-presidenTs: Carolyn Webb and Karen Mclnnis, secreTaries: Roma PorTer and Don Hammon, Treas- urersg and Bill Goodrich and Ginger Cirac, yell leaders. Roma PorTer was eTecTed Campus Queen. Spring Green was our senior play, and many of our class members were in The school play, LeTTers To Lucerne . Seniors Taking parT in The Orland YouTh Conference were Bill Goodrich, Wanda Orr, Virginia Anne Marr, and PaT Baker. Edifors of The Volcano , The school newspaper, were Ted Dooley and Bill Goodrich, and The senior chosen To ediT This year- book was Wanda Orr. Life members of The CSF are Marcia Blalock, Wanda Orr, and PaT Baker, and oThers will probably be added To This lisT by graduaTion. Many of our boys have earned Their Block S awards, among Them Harold Jer- genTz, Ted Dooley, Al Grigarick, Herb JergenTz, Jim HolT, Don Hammon, John Laco, STanford Pickard, BurTon McMil- lan, and Frank Greer. Thus we come To The close of our high school career, and as iT is finished, we look back on many never-To-be-forgoTTen memories, and our wish for fuTure classes is ThaT Their high school days may be as happy as have been ours. Many of our class members have joined The armed forces, and on This graduaTion day our ThoughTs and prayers are wiTh Them, wishing Them a safe reTurn. -PaT Baker and Virginia Anne Marr ,ar 'Dm k wa .nw-.
