DAINCE BY THE FRESHMEN A short tlme after the receptlon to the Freshmen the upper class men were dellghted to find themselves the guests of the first -fear stu dents Danclng was the prlnclpal dlverslon of the evemng at which all present voted the Freshmen 1olly entertainers CHRISTMAS DAINCE One of the most successful dances of the year was the one given before the holxday vacatlon As a dance had not been held for qulte a time much enthusiasm was shown 1n th1s affalr The school 21lldltOI'll1I'll was beautifully decorated ln evergreens and holly which added much to the splrlt of Christmas Dellghtful muslc whxch was lnsplrlng to the dancers was furmshed by Wenlng s orchestra Durmg the evemng fru t punch was served which added the last touch necessary to the gala occaslon IN HONOR OF CLIFFORD SAELTZER The patr1ot1c sp1r1t of our high school was shown in a dance glven on the evemng of January 11 1918 The guest of honor was Clifford Saeltzer Who was to leave the following mormng for the Naval Academy at Annapolls A large number of students gathered to b1d h1m goodbye and W1Sh him much success ln hlS career Durmg the evemng the presl dent of the Student Body wlth an approprlate speech presented h1m with a token as a remembrance of his school days ln S U H S HARD TIMES DANCE On the evemng of April 11 a large number of the students gather d at the Audltorlum some dressed in the gaudlest rags posslble others I poor but plain attire Some very orlgmal costumes were shown the most approprlate being Worn by Melvin LCIS Amy Ferrell George Graves and Anna Frltz to whom prizes were awarded Excellent muslc was given by Joe Martin s orchestra Thls dance was strlctly a hard tim one ab no refreshments whatever were served which proved a great dxsappom' ment to many FUTURE DANCES The next dance w1ll be the Semor reception on the evening of Mav 29 It IS expected that thls w1ll be the most enJoyable affair of the year especlally for the class of 1918 Commencement will be held at the Redding theater June 13 ani after the exerclses the regular Commencement dance w1ll begin whlch w1ll be the grand finale of the year Thirty two V 1 4 y - ' Y v - ' 1 v .
