Jun1or-Senlor Recephon On the ex enmg of Nlax 3 1920 came the gleat soclal ex ent IH our stax ln the Sharps x1lle Hlgh School The Junlor class enter tamed the Senxors and Faculty at the annual Junlor Senlor Receptlon The receptlon hall was lmed Wlth wlck 61 chalrs and decorated wlth old gold and rose xx h1le ln one corner secluded by palms xx as an orchestra chartered for the ex enlng for the general entertalnment of all present The d1n1ng hall was set off with lattlce work entxx 1ned wxth roses and other flowers and had a canopv of fragrant branches thlough xx hlch shone green llghts The tables xx exe arranged for four persons each Wlth 1nd1x1dual candles and roses as favors When the guests were admltted they took thelr places xxhlch were denoted by small name cards carry mg out the color scheme The followlng courses were prepared by the obhglng mothers of the Jumors and serv ed bx the glrls of the Freshman Class MENU Fru1t Cocktall Candled Sweet potatoes Veal Blrds Pea Pattles Hot Rolls Butterflv Salad and Salted Wafers Ice Cleam S H S Cakes Coffee After thls everx body had a pleasant tlme at games and other amusements Then at last came the regretful partmg hour It was pronounced by many present to be the most beautlfully decorated and ar ranged receptlon that one class ever pre pared for another Freshman Parhg The first Freshle party of thls year was held at Madelme UlP1Ch s The exenlng was spent by muslc and games Later IH the ex enlng refreshments were served and at the scandalous late hour of ten they returned to thelr homes Blrthdaq Parhg A pleasant evenlng was spent at the home of Irene Hutto on her seventeenth blrthday Forty guests were present The basket ball boys were at a dlsadvantage as they had to retlre at nlne o clock and mxssed the dellghtful refreshments Freshman Reception The Freshman class xx as entertamed at a receptlon g1Y en at the Hlgh School bulld mg October 1 by the upper class men The Freshman seemed to thlnk the 1n1t1at1on a l1ttle rough, but nex ertheless they seemed to enjoy themselves Refreshments of lce cream and cake were served.
