One very outstanding reason was that the Seniors knew when they returned it would not be to the Deeter building, then known as the high school, but to the new Sharpsville High School. Upon entering the building, they found large rooms, spacious corridors, and the newest of modern conveniences. The principal of this new high school was Mr. Harry E. Pebly, who was later to become superintendent, and serving as superintendent at this time was Mr. William Johnson. Several teachers who taught here at this time were, Miss Leban, Miss Moore, Mr. Servart and Miss Campbell. The education which was offered was of a classical form with foreign language, science, mathematics, and social studies being taught. In the field of sports, baseball was the largest attraction. Football ranked very high and an organized basketball team was formed, for the first year, with Mr. Pebly as coach. Miss Leban, the English teacher, directed the first class day program ever given by a senior class at Sharpsville in 1922. The program consisted ofa play entitled The Arrival of Kitty. It was presented at the United Brethren Church on Ridge Avenue. 10
