CLASS PROPHECY We know that all great inventions were first invented by someone wno used tnelr imagination. someone imagined tney could invent tele- wision, so let us imagine that someone has invented teletuture. We turn the 1113.1 to the year 12769 to look at bharpsville Z0 years llence. ln place of our red brick school building, we see a modern super- structure of glazed tile with seeing eye doors and escalator stairs, built by tne Hrabosky-Parker Construction Co. We notice that some minor reforms have been instituted in the school system. Ruth lfebly has been appointed Major Dumbo of Public bcnools. Her court consists of: Lord of Junior High, William Alleng Duke of Deeter, Dan English, Arch Duke of the Industrial Dept., John Pernliog Barroness Mary Black presiding over the Home Ec. Dept., and Baron Bryan teaching Atomic Research. Also on the teaching staff we see Russell Soliday as teacher of Ulterior Motives and Rose DePizzo teaching P.O.F. fProblems of Feudalismb. Now we focus on a strange ten story building standing in down- town Sharpsville. On the ground floor Philip Wheeler and John Schmitt are operating the Shootem Up Joe gun store. While Tom Findley's Funeral Home is doing a thriving undertaking business on the second floor. Third floor finds a dive known as Virginia Jones' Gyp Joint, featuring Joanne Williams and her jiggling jitterbugs. The fourth floor is occupied by the Thompson-Hilkirk foundation for forlorn animals. While Clifford Hanson, Raymond Lozier, and Leo Hanley are doing a prosperous taxidermy business on the fifth. On the sixth floor Evelyn Garver, Arlene Rapp, and Mary Ranelli are operating a dry goods store and having a sale on dry ice. On the seventh floor we find Martha Smartz and Janet Woods operating a Turkish bath. On the eighth floor we can see professor Frank Wasley and Harold Lewis experimenting in their laboratory. Now we see that the ninth floor is a radio station. In the main room, master of ceremonies, Art Westlake, is announcing a radio show with the capable assistance of comedian Danny Fagan. In studio B a religious program is in progress. We see a quartet consisting of John Joyce, Anderson Parks, Jerry McIntyre and Norma Jules singing hymns. Reverend Robert Westlake is presiding. In studio C, news commentator, Anthony Palo, is broadcasting the news of the day. Let's tune in and hear the latest developments .... Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen of the radio audience. The makers of Hildum's Hairless Shampoo bring you the news of the day . . . . Only two hours ago, a meat truck belonging to the Montgomery Meat Market, driven by Earl Artman of Main Boulevard collided with a car owned and operated by Chief of Police, Howard Pears .... From Hollywood we hear of film starlet Madeline Reno's latest trip to Reno, to divorce band leader, Gordon Lewis .... Turning to the artistic side, tContinued on Page 1085 '05 30 iv
