We appreciate his persistent concern for our wel- fare, his tolerance, his impartial insistence on high scholastic standards, and his ever pleasant manner. These attributes have earned him the respect and admiration of all the students at S.S.C.S. principals Hlcssajji' One never seems to have enough of the right amount or of the right kind of insurance at the right time. Education is somewhat like insurance for one never knows what facet of knowledge will be required to enable one to take advantage of a given opportunity. It is to your advantage, therefore, to avail yourself of every opportunity to improve and develop your own skills so that you may become educationally competitive in our complex society. You should never formally terminate your desire to acquire not only more but also up-to-date knowledge. Statistics verify the high correlation between training and knowledge with job opportunities. Don’t short change yourself. Make full use of your capacities. Read! Study!! Learn!!! Achieve!!!! Unart nf (ftmnitimt BOTTOM ROW: Left to right - R. Comrie, Pres. , J. Our freshman class officers were the following: President..................................DAVID NIRSCHL Vice President --- -------------------- - - -DEBRA DUTO Secretary..................................SUSAN BROWN Treasurer...........................KATHERINE BAUTOCHKA During our sophomore year we had two activities - a ham supper and a dance fea- turing the Sunsets. Our sophomore class officers were the following: President...................................DAVID NIRSCHL Vice President........................................JAMES HAZZARD Secretary.................................SUSAN BROWN Treasurer.................................SHIRLEY STEWART During our junior year we sold all occasion cards, had a funfair, a paper drive, a chicken barbecue, and a bakesale. Our junior class officers were the following: President...................................DAVID NIRSCHL Vice President.............................DANIEL VROOMAN Secretary...................................SUSAN BROWN Treasurer...........................KATHERINE BAUTOCHKA In our senior year we sold magazines and Christmas cards. We also had a fun fair, a paper drive, a bake sale, and an election night ham supper. One of the goals which we seniors looked forward to and worked for was our trip to Washington, D. C. and New York City during spring vacation. Our senior class officers were the following: President.................................SUSAN BROWN Vice President............................DAVID NIRSCHL Secretary..................................THELMA NIKOLAUS Treasurer..........................KATHERINE BAUTOCHKA prophecies As we gaze into the Crystal Ball, this is the way we see the Seniors ten years from now -- Debra Duto is an opera singer in the Doyle Carte Opera Company. She last played poor little butter- cup in H. M.S. Pinafore. Doug Glenn, prominent attorney of the thriving metropolis of Argusville, has just returned after arguing a case in front of the Supreme Court. His boisterous tones were said to be heard far across the Potomac. Linda Rabuck, head hair dresser for Charles' of New York, has designed a new hairdo called the bird cage fantasy, which is now the rage. Bill Maring is now a carpenter and makes and sells miniature torture devices for fun and profit. Louise Miller is now a star ballerina. Twinkletoes. H as she is better known, last appeared on a T. V. special with Rudolph Nureyev. Phil Nikolaus, the famous African hunter, has just invented an electronic device for snaring taran- tulas. Dave Nirschl, who has just finished his training for veterinary medicine lias figured out a way to produce milk without a cow. The dairymen's league is attempting suit. Jim Hazzard believe it or not has hair hanging down to his chin. His group The Moptops is the hottest thing in show business and they get $1000 a minute. Neil Palmer is head engineer for a new project ’’Pluto probe”. His theory that Pluto is the galaxies fountain of youth has been attacked from many angles and will be proven by this expedition. Shirley Stewart, because of her size, has volunteered for Neil's expedition. She leaves on Friday the 13th. Dick Van Dyke has given up being a cook and now devotes all his time to painting. His newest and most famous, The Flight of an Arrow. sold for $500,000.45... The forty five cents is for the arrow he lost while painting the scene. Dan Vrooman is now the N.F.L. place kicking specialist taking the place of Lou the toe Groza. They call him Dan the toeless Vrooman. Sue Brown has become an airline stewardess. For some unknown reason most of her flights are out of LaGuardia Airport. Joanne Barbie our gold medal winner in 1972 Olympics, has just set a new world's record for putting a shotput 80 feet. Kathy Bautochka is now Mr. Pendergast's chief assistant. She cleans his desk for him every week. Paul Brown is the first male to graduate from Vassar. His major was female psychology. Thora Herman has joined the Peace Corps and is teaching the native women to cook gourmet dinners out of turtles, elephants and alligator tongues. Charlie Bukovac is now the top comedian in the world. His last appearance was on the Tonight Show, where he bested Johnny Carson in a duel of wits. Sue Chichester, now a world renowned bowling champion, is the first woman to win the PBA sponsor- ed Sharon Springs Open. She rolled a perfect 900 triple to win. Dave DeLuca has formed his own basketball team-- DeLuca's Dribbling Demons. They have a record of 713 consecutive losses. Vivian Dobbin, who doesn't travel much, is probably out of this world by now. Linda Mereness is a great historian who is an authority on Kings. LeRoy Lambert, after many years of probing the ocean bottom, has finally located and salvaged the wreck of the fateful Titanic. Thelma Nikolaus is a happy housewife and is busy raising lots of little toots. Kathy Joyce has again been unanimously voted Little Miss Poverty of the year for the 12th con- secutive time. Claudia Vedder has been working on a Navy ship, sewing sails just to be near a certain Navy man. George Zeller has been building spaceships from some of the paper airplanes he made during Busi- ness class. This year out boys soared to new heights. An expert from the newspaper tells the story: For a second time in the history of county high school basketball, a better than 100 scoring was posted. The honors this time go to Sharon Springs Central High and their coach, A1 Doig. It just seemed everything the Sharon cagers touched turned to a basket as they roared past Duanesburg 119-79. With lots of hard work and spectators' cheers, our boys went to sectionals for the first time in nearly 20 years. The first game was played at Scotia-Glenville High School against Salem Central of Washington County. Sharon's last quarter heroics netted a 79-73 victory over Salem. The second game was played at Linton High School, and this time our oppo- nent was Fort Ann High. In spite of more last quarter heroics, the score for this game was 60-57 in favor of Fort Ann. Our boys played a thrilling game, and we're proud of their good sportsmanship. This year two of our boys were voted to the All-Star Teams. Dan Vrooman made the first team and Dave DeLuca made the second team. Nice going, guys! The past year has been an exciting and happy one for our school, and we hope the years to come are as great. To next year's team we say GOOD LUCK and we'll be rootin' for ya'! 3ln HUummam (T)eim o (L. |Japatit 1945-1966 Blarrel lionrt iCatjassJ 1948-1966
