SJfie 1966 ( War ion O resenleff 6y 3£e Senior Gfass cincf G£e Gfarion Staff SAaron Springs Gentraf ScAoo SAaron Springs, DC. y. Dedication We, the class of 1966, dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Mar- garet Winne. As our homeroom teacher for our junior and senior years, she has given us sound advice, helped us with our activities, and been a smiling friend to alL As commerce teacher, she has given many students a com- prehensive education in business, preparing them for college and a business career. By this dedication we wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation. F acui it y Principals JKessaye Your life is like a piece of wood. It is a raw material from which a finished product is fashioned. You are the artisan who creates the image your life represents. The careless, thoughtless oaf will construct from the wood a useless piece of furniture which will eventually be assigned to the scrap heap while the skilled craftsman will meticulously fashion a price- less work of art which will be treasured and prized by the multitudes. Your life is like that piece of wood. You are the sculptor who fashions your life. Your citizenship, your achievements, and your character are the tools by which you mold the image with which mankind holds you. Will your life be a worthless piece of flotsam quickly and easily forgotten or will it be a valued treasure whose memory lives on forever? Our freshman class officers were the following: - Robert Riolo Deborah Kling -Theresa Duto - Marie Farro president — ■ vice president secretary - - ■ treasurer — - We had two activities during our sophomore year - a turkey supper and a fun fair. Our sophomore class officers were the following: president - - ■ vice president secretary — • treasurer------ - Robert Riolo Gordon Borden Theresa Duto - Judith Riolo During the first half of our junior year, we had a dance and a paper drive. The second half we had a fun fair, a turkey supper, a bake sale, and another dance. Our junior class officers were the following: - - Robert Riolo - Gordon Borden Peggy Washburn - - Judith Riolo president - - • vice president secretary - - ■ treasurer — ■ Our main money-making project as seniors was selling magazines. We also had' a record hop, a dance featuring the Henchmen, an election night turkey supper, a fun fair, bake sales, and a Christmas dance. One of the goals which we seniors achieved was our trip to Washington, D. C. and New York City during Easter vacation. Our senior class officers were the following: president ------------------------- Robert Riolo vice president --------- - Deborah Kling secretary -- ----------------------Peggy Washburn treasurer — ----------------------- Judith Riolo 7!s we yaze inio t ie Grusta i) a , t n's is t ie way we see i ie Gen ions ten years from now — Linda BenFatti received the Leesville store from her parents as a Christmas gift. Through her stupendous management, it is now a chain store with branches in Argus- ville, Ames and Brown’s Hollow. Gordon Borden is still in the Army. He says he wouldn't miss Anita Bryant and Bob Hope for anything at their annual Christmas show! Linda Button is living in the West, but comes back every summer to show her best cows at the Cobleskill Fair. Those huge cattle shows out there don't have the flare ours do. Carol DeLuca is teaching a group of chemists and physicists how to clean their equip- ment without breaking it. With teachers like that, who needs enemies? Patricia Duto, the pipsqueak of the class, has been to hundreds of doctors, trying to find a growing pill. They say it is hopeless, so she has joined the Forever Short Club.” Theresa Duto. the renowned dietician, has been sent to Africa by the Peace Corps to teach the cannibals how to season spare ribs. Brian Ethington has come back to a slightly enlarged Sharon Springs Central School to teach Icelandic history. Marie Farro, the best in business since John D. Rockefeller, owns every big business corporation on the Atlantic seaboard--and she said she'd flunk out the first semester of college! Carolyn Hiller was doing a research paper on H. G. Wells' time machine, tried it, and ended up in pre-Revolutionary War days—she must like it there because she hasn't come back yet. Penne Jackson has a star on her dressing room door. It's been there since her first appearance on Bob MaKitten's show when they did a rehash of The Glass Menagerie. Karen Kettler is a professor at Morrisville. She blew up the lab so many times that they had to give her a job so she could pay for the damage. Debby Kling, owner of the Button Street Sandwich House, has become known far and wide for her questionable contribution to the sciences known as Kling's Law . This consists of the formula II p and is presently being used to measure the intermolecular distances existing between peanut butter molecules. Marcel LaGasse is a TV repairman, but he'll go to your house only at certain times-- when his favorite shows are on. He can't afford to buy a TV for himself. Bob Lundgren is still missing somewhere in Australia. He and Claran went on a trip around the world to celebrate their graduations and haven't been heard from since. Bob MaKitten has his own TV show. He replaced Johnny Carson after proving to him that an all female guest list would bring a better rating. Marge Meyers is a busy housewife. However, she sets aside a few days each June for Ames Old Home Day. She has a monopoly on the contest for queen--hubby's a judge. Jane Miller, after a mix-up in government red-tape, is now ambassador to China and the only person who can keep us out of war. My knees are knocking, how about yours? Joe Olsen now owns a yacht. He uses it for trips to the Bahamas and takes one passen- ger on each trip. Funny, I've never seen a man's name on the passenger list! Debbie Osterhout is living in New York. During the day she's a sweet, innocent nursery school teacher. At night she throws parties for her students --so she says. Linda Pinder is the greatest mathematician of our time. She has just proven?! that the Pythagorean Theorem is off .000012 cm. in every inch. Are you sure you checked that, Linda? Judy Riolo, a widow, has already gone through her elderly husband's generous bequest. She can't keep away from those Dollar Day sales at Topps and the Big N. Bob Riolo is getting ready for the next presidential campaign. In a recent news con- ference he said, I'm going to get Golflwater in if it's the last thing I do. Good luck. Bob, and may you live to be a hundred! Larry Schondra started out to be the town crier but ended up riding through the streets on a white horse and doing everyone's laundry. Joyce Smullen married a door to door fish salesman--she says it's a stinking life. Ronnie VanPatten is editor of Popular Mechanics. The editorial page is dedicated to interviews with the Honda fans in Sharon Springs. Peggy Washburn is married but doesn't do any housework. She got a taste of easy living someplace and now she won't work—her seven kids do everything. Judy W ilday is now married and living at her lakeside home, where she is raising a flock of herons .
