IN MEMORY We are honored to make this dedication in the yearbook to Col. Richard Buttery. Richard was vsiy well liked by his classmates and tea- chers. He moved from New Haven, Conn, in 19lj5 to enter the Central School as a sophomore. Rich- ard graduated in 19U7 and to 19lj8 he joined the United States Marines. He trained at Paris Is- land and in the same year he was sent to the Hawaiian Islands. Here he took active oart in bowling and football. Dec. 7, 1951 he was called for active duty in Korea. We all bow our heads in a silent salute to the first boy from Sharon to be killed in Korea. June the third is not a day set aside for remembrance, but for all of us in our own hearts we will remember Cpl. Richard Buttery. 2
