The two days were filled with competi- tion and fun. The FHA girls had their bakesale. Booths included the fishing pond, ring toss, basketball and football throw, golf, dart throw, cotton candy, snow cones, and the seniors had their dunking board. Some of the activities that kept people busy were the fat stock show, horse show, poultry show, and talent show. The events that were held were the lamb lead, the sheep show, and then the pig show. Due to all the effort, sup- port, and time put forth by all the people involved, this stock show was a success! Tammy wins the two mile, IUNIOR HIGH GIRLS TRACK The junior high girls season was highlighted by a second place Q92 pointsj finish at Thomas and the runner-up trophy at the district meet at Ringwood. Brenda Steadman captured four gold medals at conference on her way to a twelve medal season. Stacy Campbell earned ten medals for the junior high team. HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS TRACK The high school girls, although small in number, distinguished themselves meet after meet by scoring 487 total points and taking home 70 medals. The two-mile relay team qualified for the state meet and individually Tammy Brown qualified in the 800m and l600m runs. The season was highlighted with the best overall state performance in S-M girls track history. The team was state runner-up in the two mile relay. Tammy Brown finished fourth in the 800m run and then won the 1600m run with a time of 5:40 Ibest class B time in the state in 1984.j. Overall the girls earned 30 points, good for sixth at the state meet. HICH SCHOOL BOYS TRACK IUNIOR HIGH BOYS TRACK The 1984 track campaign was a mighty successful one for the Sharon-Mutual Tro- The seventh and eighth grade boys had a most successful season. They attended five tough junior high meets and in all but one faced competition from grades seven through nine. In five meets the team scored a total of 226W points and brought home 27 medals. The 27 medals consisted of 19 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze. The team's most successful campaign came Tuesday, April 24, when seven of the boys attended the District B-2 track meet. They earned a total of 126 points and just clipped Ringwood for the District Runner-up plaque by winning the last event of the day, the 1600m relay, With the continuing improvement of this team, Trojan Country can expect good things from the junior high Trojans. jans They attended eight regular season meets, earning a total of 447W points, and brought home a total of 50 medals' 29 gold, 4 silver, 12 bronze, one 4th place bronze, and four Sth place bronze The most successful outing, pointwise, was the District B-2 meet at Ringwood, A score of 73 points was earned and five medals were brought home, On Saturday, April 28, five boys competed in the regional meet at Laverne, which turned out to be the toughest regional in the state Of those five boys, three earned points and medals and two qualified to attend the state meet the following week. Those scoring and medalling were lustin Custar - gold in 100, 200, and 400 dashes ta feat rarely accomplishedl: Wade Phillips - gold in shot pul and fourth in discus fhad three best throws in shotj, Beau Murlin - fifth place in high jump. lustin Custar qualified lor state in all three events and Wade Phillips qualified for state in two events The season culminated on May 4 and 5 in Yukon at the State Track Meet for class B schools, On Friday, lustin Custar qualified for the finals tto be held the following dayj in all three of his events. On Saturday, Wade Phillips took eighth in the discus and won the bronze medal in the Shot Put lustin's first event on Saturday was the 100 dash in which he won third lbronzej.
