The play was a gay warning to all of those who have captured happiness and are taking it for granted. It had to do with the Shaws, Charlotte and Hilary, charming, well-lured people, and their children, Elsie, 19, and Eric, 21. Well-to-do suhurhanites with an attractive home and many friends, they were a happy and devoted family unit. lnto this serene setting came the Little Stranger, Angela Drayton, only child of the late John Drayton, Chicago money lcing, from whom she had inherited a lust for power which her haloy-face helied. On his cleathlbed Drayton had aslced Hilary to talce in his little daughter and watch over her, and the warm-hearted Shaws opened their home and hearts to the orphan. For four days Angela visited the happy Shaws and hy the end of that time they realized that they had undergone a hlitzlcrieg. 52

With the aici of Mr. Kenny's Gumbo z'i1ertms, they get trim to see them act in 'KMostiy iViurcier.U The police, Mac anci Joe, and iVIurieI Foster, a biunciering frienci of Dottie's, made time matter of getting ,jobs difficult and Mrs. Garnet, the uncompiaining and ciumia landlady, certainly makes time future iooic clark for time actors. After numerous complications the actors go on IVIr. Kenny's roaci show, 'fiViostiy iVIurcier. 55
