I looked out the window first to see who it was. Outside I saw a truck parked. In big white letters there was written nNehl1g Stables.n Hmmmml So Howard did get into the race horse business. I went to the door and there was Howard Nehlig,a middle aged,hand- some, man. QThat will cost you two-bits, Nehl1g.J Yes, Howard was a big business man and he dropped in to talk over old times. Howard was surprised to hear that Beverly Baker was a trumpet player in Tom Finn's all-girl orchestra. nSpeak1ng of g1rls,u added Howard, nMarg1e Grisham now sings in the Navy Blue Night Club on the coast.' Ah,st1ll attached to the Navy! Just then was heard a shout nPaper!n nWhat's thatlu exclaimed Howard. I explained that it was Merrill Trewyn, Jr., son of the former Barbara Floyd. He had his daily paper route and was a fine boy until collection time. I got the paper and saw the ed1tor's name in the cornerg nPhil O'Connor, ED. and PROP., The Smiling Ir1shman.n We saw in the paper where Betty Young, local farm girl, had won s prize for the best purebred herd of Holstein cattle. In the sports section we saw Leo Naber's name. He was playing for the Phillip's Oilers and was high scorer. He also was just voted All- Amerioan for the 3rd consecutive year. Turning to the comics, guess what we found. We found a character created by Dick New called Trick Dacy, Manace of the Underworld. Leav- ing Trick Dacy and a gang of hoodlums, I turned on my television set. To our surprise we saw Norma Turner doing her famous ballet dance at New York. My, how things have changed. After watching Norma do her act I switched stations. 'Ah,n I said to Howard, UA wrestling match.u As we watched, we heard the announcer say something about Gorgeous Ken, better known as Ken Miller to us. I turned off the TV set and went to the kitchen to fix a bite to eat. I came back and Howard said, uDo you know where Marie warren and Betty Weeks are?u uharle is president of Yale,u I replied, Hand Betty weeks is an English teacher there. They're both married to professors.u I won- dered if they were absent minded professors or what. Glanclng at the clock Howard said he had to get some new bridles and his truck was getting low on atomic energy. I went down town with hhnbecause I had to get the mail. He parked in front of thehardware store. Next door there was a sign nLeRoy Way-- Mortician. Try our Convenient Lay Away Plan.U who'll never be out of work. Now there's one fellow Howard got his bridle andI got my mail andhe asked me where there was a good garage. I replied that M1ke's Garage was alright. As we got there we saw Mrs. Mike Seaver or rather Dorothy Lee acting as his secretary. I asked Dorothy what Helen Bollinger and Ruth Walley were doing. Dorothy replied that Helen was a movie star in Hollywood for H.O.B. Studios. Herbert Owen Baumann studios! Ruth Walley runs a swanky hotel somewhere in Chicago. Howard drove me home again and I met Bill Grieg Jr., coach of the Sharon High School, and incidentally, he had a red shirt on.
