The play, which involved 69 students in grades 7 through 12. was performed over a period of three nights, in November. All of the effort put into the nightly rehearsals was obvious during the performances. When asked for his comment regarding the play. Mr. Clary said that he felt that the play was a great success and that all of the cast members enjoyed depicting the fictional characters of Neverland. Mr. Clary also felt that technically. Peter Pan was Sharon s best play yet. due to all of the hours of hard work put in my Mr. John Hull and his technical crew. Those who attended the performances will never forget their visit to Neverland! Peter Pan 17 Oklahoma 19 The Top Ten Candidates ... A relatively new organization which was organized in 1985. the group gathers at monthly meetings to review progress-to-date, to discuss and consider potential activities. Several of the current activities sponsored by the ABC are as follows: a science fair for those 7th and 8th grade students interested in experimenting and discovering, a recognition day for underclassmen who have earned honor roll status throughout the year, and an honors banquet recognizing those seniors who will graduate with honors. During its brief existence, the organization has achieved various goals and will continue to strive to instill desire to learn in the students of SHS. The Tigers finished second in the KFL and advanced to the District 10 championships for the fourth time in six seasons. The Tigers faced a powerful Erie Cathedral Prep team who was ranked fourth in the state. The Tigers gave up only an average of 3.6 points per game in the regular season, they were ranked in the top ten teams in PA defensively. The Tiger defense recorded seven shut outs which tied a record dating back to 1935. The Tigers ended their season with 7 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties. While the remainder of the dual meet season went well, illness and injuries to veteran runners at the end of the season, put the Tigerettes out of contention for state. Lynn McKee (3rd), Terra Manning (7th) and Julie Curry (1 Oth), continued the tradition of placing three girls in the MCAC top ten. While both teams included new faces, so did the coaching staff, as Mr. Houck welcomed JoAnn O'Malley, a former Sharon runner. Coach O'Malley assisted with both teams and began a program for grades five through eight. 62 Girls’ Cross Country Faster You Boneheads Boys’ Cross Country: Front Row: Ron Bertram, Adam Bielobockie, Marc Swogger, Dave Sovesky, Chris Schimp Back Row: Bob Miller. Under the instruction of Mr. Eric Wenger and Mrs. Mary Wildman, both the girls’ and boys' teams had a disheartening conclusion to a very demanding season, having respective records of 7 wins and 8 losses for girls, along with 6 wins and 10 losses for boys. Though the final standings seem to megate any display of intense effort, the swimmers demonstrated great dedication in obtaining a season filled with numerous individual achievements. Eleven swimmers qualified to attend District 10 Swimming Championships, which were held at Edinboro University, on February 27, 1988. Congratulations to the coaches and all the swimmers for their demonstration of continual perseverance. Girls Gymnastics Team: Front Row: Dondi Michael, Stacey Sanders. Shelley Monoc.
