Although the freshmen and sophomores are not given a choice of English mini-courses, their program has been altered to include more areas of study. Freshman English is concentrated mostly on an introduction to varied types of literature — classical as well as modern. The sophomore curriculum demands more independent work on the part of the student. Its prime goal is to master the student s skills in the basic fundamentals of English. Library Opens Detn GJorlb of Gbucation for Shtbents Mr. James Squatrito Mrs. Dorothy Sarver Containing an immense variety of literary works, the Sharon High School library strives to satisfy all student preferences. The library contains a great variety of literature ranging from classical to modern works. It also houses a five-year backlog of periodicals and boasts a fine research area. In addition, the modern library is equipped with listening and viewing rooms for the faculty as well as students. The library is open to all students wishing to use it. BELOW: Library assistants.
